Peyton’s Place: A Show On ESPN+ Worth Watching

To the naked eye, football is the most violent sport played in the world. There is no sport that takes a toll on the mental psyche other than American football. There’s nobody more familiar with the sport than former Super Bowl champion Peyton Manning. The future Hall of Fame quarterback was an icon for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos, winning championships with both franchises. Now, he is taking his talents to the television.

Peyton’s Places Season 2 was recently added to ESPN+, a sports-subscription based streaming network. He has taken on the role of host and interviewer as he visits former players. During this time, he reminisces about some of the greatest moments in NFL history and talks about the prime of these player’s careers. Relaxed And Informative

Guys like Manning and former Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch used to be fixtures on the best sports betting sites. Now that they are retired from the league, they can relax and enjoy aspects of life after football. Lynch is featured in the season opener and premiers on the trailer for Season 2. Lynch was one of the most beloved players for his encounters with the media after the game. Seeing him relax and talk about his iconic “Beast Quake” touchdown run in a 2011 playoff game against the New Orleans Saints is truly something special.

In the first season of Peyton’s Places, Manning had viewers tag along an informative tour of the National Football League’s history. He visited all-time greats in Brett Favre, Tom Brady, and Ray Lewis. He took us back to integral parts of history to how game balls were manufactured. This has a documentary feel but is more relaxed and easy-going. This show almost feels like watching NFL Films, but instead, it features higher-quality footage of today’s game.

Is This Watchable?

While riding out the NFL season, this should be a part of your life. Peyton’s Places avoids the trap of overdoing football content. It actually steers away from highlights and gears it more towards the conversations of the players. Sure, there are highlights of the great players, as it should, but the show is more about the behind the scenes life of the players. It dives into their minds and gives the viewers a key to what they were feeling during those historic times.

Again, the show has a relaxed and free feel to it. These conversations are not taking place in a studio. These are live conversations taken place outside where the guests feel comfortable. The show keeps the focus and doesn’t let the moment drag on. The characters are introduced and the footage starts rolling. There are jokes, jabs, and a tad bit of serious talk all intertwined. If you have time to go down memory lane, spend it with Peyton and his guests. You will not be disappointed.
