Mike Zimmer’s press conference got interrupted by a phone call. In fact, it got interrupted several times. Who was the one calling him? None other than Hall of Fame corner Deion Sanders. Take a look for yourself:

Part of the reason why Zim has always gotten so much credit for his ability with corners rests in his history coaching Sanders. Zimmer’s recent press conference simply confirms what has long been evident: the old coach and arguably the best CB to ever play are still very close. If you’re interested, you can see the whole presser on Vikings.com.

Hopefully, Zim will be able to concoct some more game plans that can help his defense to succeed. Cameron Dantzler deserves to remain in the starting lineup; Patrick Peterson will ideally be back for the Green Bay game. With Harrison Smith likely back, the secondary should be much improved. A healthy Anthony Barr would further help the defense get back on track. From there, it’s going to be important for the defense to continue its strong effort against the run. Shutting down Austin Ekeler was no small feat.

At a time when many Vikings fans are torn between hope and doom, take a few moments to enjoy a lighthearted moment from Zimmer’s press conference.
