The Vikings announced two more moves on Tuesday that are being made in the wake of Anthony Barr’s injury. First, Hardy Nickerson has been moved from the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of week three.

Nickerson was moved from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of the season opener against the Packers. He was demoted back to the practice squad for week two, though.

Before this year, Nickerson spent his first three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals where he played 37 games and got nine starts. His best year was 2018 when he played all 16 games and got seven starts. He recorded 57 of his 81 career tackles that year.

The Vikings also announced they will work out James Burgess alongside Todd Davis this week. Burgess started his career in Cleveland, but last year he played for the Jets.

Burgess stepped up when the Jets’ defense was plagued with injuries. He recorded 80 tackles in 10 games during 2019, including eight tackles for loss and a forced fumble.
