Week 12 is a clash of two teams finding their mojo for a late-season push. The Vikings have won two in a row of four of their last six while the Niners have dominated their last two opponents by 20+ points. Both sit at 5-5 now, with sights set on the playoffs ahead of their Sunday afternoon bout. Perhaps your fantasy football team is in the same boat with the playoffs even nearer. If so, here is the Vikings fantasy football forecast for week 12.

QB Kirk Cousins- Start

The 49ers secondary has put up nice statistics in recent weeks, but some of these games have very little substance to them. Here are the QBs that San Francisco has played over their last four games:

Two rookies, a backup, and a hampered star is not exactly this week’s matchup. Credit to our own Dustin Baker for discovering this statistic, but it turns out that throughout his career, Kirk Cousins has been historically great during the month of November.

Kirk Cousins has been quite an erratic member of the Vikings fantasy football forecast this year. He’s put up four 25+ point performances, but he has also been held under 15 points three times. Luckily for the Vikings, they will play San Francisco on (checks calendar) November 28th. It’s Kirk-Vember for one more week; hop on the wagon and ride to a fantasy football victory.

RB Dalvin Cook- Start

If there’s one thing the 49ers are certainly unable to do, it’s defend the run. They’ve gotten lucky with a couple early leads forcing opponents to pass more often the past couple weeks. This week though, the Vikings will come in and protect the ball, feeding their star RB.

On the road this year, Dalvin Cook has either topped 100 yards or scored a touchdown in every game he’s played. That’s a recipe for fantasy football success as well as Minnesota Vikings success. Assuming this trend continues, he’s a must-start this week against the Niners.

WR Adam Thielen- Start

After two weeks of relatively underwhelming performances by Adam Thielen, he bounced back with 82 yards and a touchdown against Green Bay. San Francisco’s top cornerback, Emmanuel Moseley, will likely have his hands full trying to guard Justin Jefferson, and the 49ers really don’t have a solid No. 2 option on their roster for Thielen.

With Thielen’s propensity for scoring touchdowns this year, now sitting at eight for the season, he should be able to put together another great output for fantasy teams.

WR Justin Jefferson- Start

This is going to be the matchup of the day: Jefferson vs Moseley. If Moseley wins the matchup, the 49ers likely win. If Jefferson wins, the Vikings likely win. This week, I am predicting Jefferson and the Vikings come out on top.

Since the second half of the Chargers game, the Vikings offense has been noticeably more aggressive, and it just seems like the team is having much more fun than they were to start the year. Justin Jefferson has been a big part of that. He’s also expanded his game in recent weeks. Not only is he putting together games with high target and yardage totals, but he’s also finding the end zone more often. He scored twice in the game against Green Bay, and he will be a threat to do so once again this week.
