Vikings Add Familiar Face to QB Room

The roster moves have been coming fast and furious. You can see a handy chart from The Athletic‘s Chad Graff breaking down where things stand (we covered some of the recent activity earlier).

Perhaps the most notable thing to adjust in that above tweet is that Minnesota has brought back Sean Mannion. He is officially on the team’s practice squad. It’s a smart decision. The veteran is entering his sixth NFL season, so he’ll provide an experienced voice in the QB room that will help Cousins prepare. He also provides some familiarity with the offense since he was in Minnesota in 2019. The transition should be relativelty easy.

Of course, our Vikings will likely be in big trouble if either Kellen Mond or Mannion need to start on game day. There have been some tough circumstances for our Vikings to overcome, and the pass catcher depth has taken a sizeable hit. If our QB1 goes down, the season is almost certainly lost.
