The 5 Most Intriguing Games for the Minnesota Vikings This Season

The NFL season is just one week away and the Minnesota Vikings are ten days away from stepping onto the field for the first time in this unpredictable season.

The Vikings currently are tied for tenth highest strength of schedule and having some fun narrative and intriguing games this season. These are the top five most intriguing matchups this season.

5. Seattle Seahawks- October 11th, 2020 (Week 5)

The week five match up at CenturyLink Field will be a huge test for the Vikings early on. Seattle will be in a battle for the division with the 49ers, while the Vikings will be battling for the NFC North with the Packers, so both these teams might be on the outside looking into their divisions. If so, this game will mean a ton in terms of seeding for the wildcard.

Both teams have a subpar offense line, and the battle up front will be the key factor in that game. With Minnesota upgrading their defensive line, they have a great chance of upsetting the Seahawks.

4. Carolina Panthers- November 29th, 2020 (Week 12)

There may not be hatred for Teddy Bridgewater in Minnesota, but it is still his revenge game against the Vikings. The former first-round pick Quarterback lines up under center for the Panthers, who gave him a three-year, $63 million deal, hoping to prove to the Vikings that they made a mistake in letting him go.

However, I see the Minnesota fans (if there will be any) opening up the game the same way they saw him out, with a standing ovation for Bridgewater. Then, it’s back to business.

3. Dallas Cowboys- November 22nd, 2020 (Week 11)

A game against the Dallas Cowboys will always be big. The game will garner national coverage and comes during a time where both teams should at least still be in the hunt for the playoffs unless something goes wrong.

It will also be the return of Everson Griffen, as he will line up for Dallas. However, the loss of Griffen will be lessened due to the Yannick Ngakoue trade.

2. New Orleans SaintsDecember 25th, 2020 (Week 16)

While most years, the NBA dominates Christmas games, the NFL will have the world watching this one. It’s obvious that the Saints and Vikings have real vitriol and wish nothing but failure for one another. Luckily, the Saints and Vikings do not have to wait for a playoff game to match up as the NFL is giving the fans one of the best non-divisional rivalry games in the sport in week 15.

The Saints will be looking to wash the bitter taste of last year’s playoff loss to the Vikings out of their mouths. The Vikings can give their fans the best Holiday gift possible, a win over the Saints.

1. Green Bay Packers- September 13th, 2020 (week 1)

It had to be this one. The Minnesota Vikings open up the 2020-21 NFL season at home at the U.S. Bank Stadium against their arch-rival, the Green Bay Packers. The division will likely be between these two teams and getting one over on a division rival in week one will be huge.

The Vikings have been all over headlines this week from the Dalvin Cook contract situation to the Yannick Ngakoue trade, to Riley Reiff’s pay cut and Kirk Cousins’ COVID comments.

After a full week of news, Vikings fans will be excited to see their team take the field and see their defense put Rodgers on his back multiple times in a game.
