Adrian Peterson had another big day against the San Diego Chargers.

Peterson rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns as his Minnesota Vikings beat the Chargers, 31-14.

San Diego falls to 1-2. It has trailed at the end of 11 of 12 quarters this season. Next week, the Chargers are home against Cleveland.

Minnesota improves to 2-1.

Peterson got a 3-yard TD run in the first half. It was his first touchdown since November of 2013. He missed all of last season with a suspension.

On the Vikings first offensive play of the second half, Peterson broke free for a 43-yard touchdown run. He narrowly missed a third touchdown when he bullied his way down to the 1-yard line later in the third quarter. Zach Line carried it in on the next play.

Chad Greenway returned an interception 91-yards for a score for the Vikings. And Blair Walsh has a 24-yard field goal to round out the Minnesota scoring.

San Diego’s first touchdown came late in the first half on a 34-yard pass from Philip Rivers to Keenan Allen. Their second score came with 32 seconds left in the game on a Kellen Clemens 19-yard pass to Allen.

For the Chargers, Rivers finished 21 of 34 passing for 246 yards. Allen had 12 catches for 133 yards. And Melvin Gordon had 15 carries for 58 yards.

For the Vikings, Teddy Bridgewater finished 13 of 24 passing for 121 yards. Mike Wallace has 3 catch for 49 yards.
