Pump the Brakes Minnesota Wild Fans…They’re Not Going Anywhere In the Playoffs (According to Vegas)

The excitement is palpable all over Minnesota. The Wild are looking like real playoff contenders. With each passing day Kaprizov looks more and more like the superstar we fans have all been hoping he would become. I’ve heard a number of media people talking Stanley Cup for the Minnesota Wild.

The pessimist in me immediately wants to disagree. But honestly I can’t. I mean, it’s gonna be tough, but this is the best pro team I’ve seen in this town since Favre was here and rocking green crocs.

LET’S PUMP IT UP AROUND HERE!!!!!

This is still my favorite single moment of sports I’ve watched. If you look closely, Patrick Roy is already actually crying.

Nothing is better than playoff hockey. It’s non stop excitement. And as the playoffs inch closer this blogger feels the need to make them even more exciting. What better way to do that than throw some hard earned government stimulus money on the best damn team in the NHL!

Then I went to look at what the futures are on the Wild to win the Cup.

Wait, no this isn’t right, is it? 20/1? +2000?

I literally went to multiple odds sites convinced I was looking at odds from the beginning year. But they were the real current odds. 20/1. These are all the teams with better odds than the Minnesota Wild to drink from Lord Stanley’s Cup:

  • Colorado 9/2
  • Vegas 11/2
  • Carolina 15/2
  • Tampa Bay 15/2
  • Maple Leafs 15/2
  • Bruins 12/1
  • Penguins 12/1
  • Capitals 12/1
  • Islanders 16/1

Next the Wild are tied with Edmonton at 20/1. What in the F is going on? And even worse our most likely first round opponents, Las Vegas or Colorado, are the two favorites to win it all.

So as I see it, we fans have only one option based on the above information. I’m sure Bossman, who has declared himself the worst sports gambler there is, would agree. And I’m also sure he’s puttin’ a couple tall piles of cash on our local hockey team. But this time I’m gonna agree with him.

So let’s get nuts….

Seriously. They just gotta get by the first round. I’m not huuuuuge sports gambler, but I’m definitely gonna throw some stimulus money on the Wild to win it all. Let’s get so much money on ’em that we move the line and laugh at everyone who didn’t get the Wild at 20/1.
