Murray Placed on PUP List, Will be Vikings Third Down/Goal-Line Back
For those of you that were looking forward to drafting Dalvin Cook late in your Fantasy Football draft(s) this year, I’ve got some bad news…
Love that the team has already told Latavius Murray that he's primarily going to be a third-down, goal line RB.
He'll thrive in that role.

While that isn’t exactly a huge surprise and obviously things could change, the reality is that the young Cook will struggle to top five touchdown’s this season. That is of course if Murray is ready when the season starts as he had ankle surgery this off-season and was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list when he showed up to camp, as well.
.@LataviusM and Shaan Washington have been placed on Active/PUP and @sharriffloyd on Active/NFI.

So. Like many other teams the Vikings appear to have a true running back by committee system set up for the first time since really 2007, Adrian Peterson’s rookie year, where he was behind Chester Taylor on the depth chart. While this will hurt the fantasy prospects of Murray, Cook and even Jerick McKinnon, it means that the Vikings will be stacked at the position and should be much improved from the 2016 season where they were one of the worst teams in the league in that regard.
As always, we will be covering training camp and even hosting our own Fantasy Leagues here on purplePTSD.com (thanks to Yahoo!). Info on that will pop up soon as well, so stay tuned and check out our new Fantasy section!
