It’s been a rough go of things for the 2021 Detroit Lions, to say the least. Especially on the offensive side of the ball, Detroit has found little to no success. Since their Week 1 game against San Francisco where they rode garbage time to 33 points, they have failed to break the 20-point threshold in each of their last 10 games. They’ve also put up 300+ total yards just six times this year. With that in mind, here is your Lions fantasy football forecast for Week 13 against the Vikings.

QB Jared Goff- Sit

I know it may be shocking to some, but Jared Goff is not worth starting in any fantasy football leagues this week. The Lions QB has thrown touchdown passes in just five of his 10 games this season. He has turned the ball over in seven of those games.

Those aren’t numbers that project high production for the Lions fantasy football forecast. If you need any more of a reason to avoid Goff, in his first game against Minnesota this year, he turned the ball over twice and was under constant pressure.

RB Jamaal Williams- Start

If you need a streaming option at RB this week in the wake of Christian McCaffrey’s injury, Jamaal Williams is a great bet to make. with D’Andre Swift sidelined for another week, the Lions will be relying on Williams for a lot of their production in the ground game.

Similarly to the Lions, the Minnesota Vikings defense has been atrocious against the run this year. Especially if Michael Pierce remains sidelined this week, that should continue into week 13. If the Lions are going to have any success in real life or in fantasy football, Williams should get a ton of touches.

TE T.J. Hockenson- Sit

The Lions tight end is one of the few stars remaining on this team, but even so, production has been underwhelming. He may have scored a touchdown last week against Chicago, but it was T.J. Hockenson’s first score since week 2. He also only saw three targets in that win for just 35 yards.

Hockenson may be the clear No. 1 option in the passing game on a week-to-week basis, but that’s not saying a ton for this Lions offense. Additionally, with Eric Kendricks being one of the best coverage linebackers in the league for the Minnesota Vikings, he should make things very difficult on the tight end. WR Amon-Ra St. Brown- Sit

The Detroit Lions offense has been subpar, but a high point in that has been rookie wide receiver, Amon-Ra St. Brown. He leads Detroit’s wide receivers in targets this year and has had a few flashy moments in his first year. That said, the fantasy football forecast for Detroit does not project a very big week for him.

As good as he’s been in moments, St. Brown has had equally bad lows. He still does not have a touchdown reception in 2021, and he has struggled with drops in moments. With the Vikings having a difficult pass defense, the rookie is not worth starting this week.
