Antoine Winfield Jr, and he’s at least as good as his dad, or Thad Moss, and he’s 50% of the player Randy was?
Winfield was pretty great, and we need a safety to replace Harry in a few years and to possible move Harris. But if you could get somebody who was even half as good as Moss, who was one of the greatest ever, IDK. I think it’s close.

In my mind if you look at the Minnesota Vikings current needs, Db overtakes TE, especially considering our current depth at TE and our lack of Depth at DB.
Overall I would draft a full Winfield over a half Randy Moss.
Winfield was a beast and I expect similar results from his offspring.
A half Randy is comparable to Nate Burleson.

That’s a good point. I think the greats get overrated compared to everybody else. Yes, they’re on another level, but not that much better than most NFL players. I’d have to agree, especially considering immediate need, but with Rudy on the down swing, not saying he’s done yet just saying he’s getting older, and the time it takes to adjust to the NFL, is tight end need in the next 2-3 years? That makes Moss an intriguing option, especially in the middle rounds.

As far as having a good number two tight end I see your point but I do like Irv Smith.

I’ve also just been reminded that Jake Reed’s son J.R. is in the draft as another safety out of Georgia. So how about a safety tandem of Reed/Winfield and Moss at tight end along with Irv Smith Jr, whose father was also an NFL player. Maybe we could convince Cam Jordan to come up and play too. I guess we’ll have to keep Chad Beebe, or maybe we trade him to Buffalo too?

Personally, I’m not sold on Thad Moss. In my opinion his production was greatly benefitted by LSU’s elite passing game last year, not to mention the Vikings aren’t in need of another TE. Maybe a late-round flyer if he drops at all? But I’ve been seeing him mocked in the 3-4 rounds and that would be soon to take him in my opinion.
