VT Updates: Diggs yet again Tweeting about a Trade, Cousins get Extended & More!

It’s been a head-spinning day in the NFL, as teams are making all sorts of moves to clear up cap space before the official start of free agency Wednesday. Minnesota is no exception in that regard, as they entered the off-season with nearly 20 free agents and had a league low NEGATIVE $12 million in their coffers.

That lead the team to the “necessary evil” Of releasing defensive team leaders Linval Joseph and Xavier Rhodes, as well as tight end David Morgan.

Then came the “news” that Kirk Cousins has turned down multiple team friendly deals with the Vikings, as he reportedly wanted to wait out free agency to see what the market for QBs, or rather the going rate for one, could be post 2020.

Well.

While it turns out that wasn’t entirely correct, as Cousins signed or agreed to a two year extension with the Vikings today, the final year cap hit of $44 million (in 2022) did show that he wanted more, not less money.
