Before the start of free agency last week, general manager Rick Spielman let it be known that the Vikings have a “pretty good history of trying to keep our own guys.”
So what happened in the six days following the March 9 launch of the signing frenzy? Minnesota lost eight free agents without re-signing a single one.
The Vikings since have brought back cornerback Terence Newman and receiver Adam Thielen. As for the ones who left, Spielman insisted Thursday he wasn’t alarmed.
