In First Half Against Cardinals, Vikings’ Offense Looks Like 2018 Version

Despite a brilliant 85-yard touchdown run by RB Dalvin Cook, the Vikings’ starting offense looked awful against Arizona in front of the home crowd at US Bank Stadium.  And we thought Christian Ponder was done. The first-half performance of Vikings’ quarterback Kirk Cousins sure made it look like he was still out there, taking sacks, missing throws and having balls batted on every series he played. This is what Vikings’ fans waited for all off-season?   It reminded many of us two games of the 2018 season; the disaster of week 3 against the Buffalo Bills, and the tragedy of week 16, when the Vikings’ were embarrassed by the Chicago Bears. Both humiliating losses were at home. With a passing output of 24 yards against Arizona’s 192, and an eleven minute time of possession deficit, Cousins and the Vikings’ starting offense should have been at least handing out free cokes and hotdogs at halftime. Instead, they took a powder and let the reserves take over as Minnesota received the second-half kickoff.  On the first snap of their first possession, a fumbled snap. At US Bank Stadium, Vikings’ fans were starting to think about the yard work that needed to be done.
