There’s a lot to be nervous about prior to this week’s Vikings game. Facing the squad dubbed America’s team, in prime time, on Halloween night, with playoff implications? It doesn’t get much spookier than that.

These are two teams looking for a big wins coming off of byes in order to keep pace in a strong NFC. With the Packers (7-1) already winning on Thursday night in Arizona, the VIkings (3-3) need a win to ensure that they keep contact in the division race. The Cowboys (5-1) on the other hand seems to have the NFC East all but locked down already after the underwhelming start by the Washington Football Team (2-5). However, they need a win to keep pace with the other division leaders as all of Green Bay, Tampa Bay, and Arizona have just one loss going into Sunday’s action.

If the already tense situation going into this game isn’t enough, and you need to add a little more Sunday scaries to your life, you might be considering placing a bet or two in this game. Here are the betting lines as we approach Sunday night.

Spread: Vikings -3

Nothing can be assumed for a Vikings game, especially one played in these circumstances. However, things are looking more and more like they are leaning Minnesota’s way. Kirk Cousins has continued his hot start and is playing at the level of a potential MVP.

On the other side, Dak Prescott’s status is very much up in the air for the Cowboys. His calf injury has kept him sidelined from practices, and Dallas will be waiting until the very last minute to make the decision on whether he will suit up. If you’re feeling frisky enough to place a bet on this line, lean towards the Vikings.

Over/Under: 51.5 Points

This one looks obvious. Since 2019, this is the third meeting between these two squads, and in each of the previous two games they’ve covered the points. 2021 looks like the most loaded offense that both sides have had in that time as well, so we could be in for quite a shootout this evening. Of course, the Dak Prescott situation makes this a bit more nerve-wracking than it needs to be. This still looks like a very juicy opportunity, though.

Over their first six games of the season, the two teams have combined to average a whopping 68.7 points per game (Cowboys 34.2. Vikings 24.5). It will take a major letdown from one of these teams for this game not to hit the over.
