The man dubbed the nickname “Mr. Preseason” struck again in the Hall of Fame Game played last night between the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars. The Raiders ended up winning the game 27-11 as Jacksonville struggled to gain any momentum offensively throughout the exhibition. During the exhibition, Kyle Sloter led the sole touchdown drive for the Jaguars down the stretch of the fourth quarter.

Vikings fans should be very familiar with Sloter’s preseason heroics as he spent three years with Minnesota between 2017-19. The UDFA spent much of the 2017 season on the active roster after Sam Bradford’s injury, but never saw any game action. His first action for the Vikings came during the 2018 preseason where he regularly was the bright spot for Minnesota’s roster. He helped lead the Vikings to a 3-1 record in that year by passing for 366 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions. Sloter also completed 73.2% of his passes.

Instead of making the roster, he was put on the practice squad in 2018, but once again in the 2019 preseason he shined. Sloter exceeded his 2018 stats by completing 76.5% of his passes for 443 yards, four touchdowns, and a single interception. All in all, Sloter put together 809 yards, eight touchdowns, and one interception in his time for the Vikings. He was waived by the team on August 31st, 2019.

This most recent preseason appearance came on the heels of a terrific USFL season for the New Orleans Breakers. He led the Breakers to the playoffs where they ultimately fell to the Birmingham Stallions. In the end, Sloter led the Breakers to a 6-4 record while passing for 1799 yards, nine touchdowns, and 11 INTs. The season earned him a chance with the Jaguars, and he made the most of it.

The Jaguars next preseason game is next Friday on August 12th. They’ll take on the Cleveland Browns, and Sloter should see plenty of playing time once again.
