Keenum Replaces Bradford Before Half-Time, Because of Course He Did

The reality of the 2017 Vikings, after losing their Rookie of the Year candidate running back for the year, and going 1-2 since losing their starting QB after a great initial game where he played like Tom Brady and head coach Mike Zimmer actually said “After four years we finally have an explosive offense!”, is that that quarterback was forced back too early to play in a game while he was still clearly (and now even more) injured because of the play by his backup (Case Keenum) and then he ends up being replaced by that same QB after a horrible (and before the end of the) first half in which he couldn’t step into his throws or at points even stand up when people got near him. That’s the longest sentence, ever! I’m writing this as the Vikings lead 17-9, and am really just at this point slowly, and painfully, sliding into “who cares” territory. Hear me out if you’re a glass half full/”We still have the best WR’s in the league and the defense has played well!” type person.

Now the score is 17-17, after two amazing and highlight-worthy plays, after Chicago had also scored on a fake punt and a safety and a bounced ball catch. So, and I said this in my live chat… The Vikes have the worst luck of any team and it’s not even close and I resent those that think that “every team deals with X”, about once a month when something awful happens to the Purple and Gold. I’m tired of this. I don’t want to watch Latavius Murray run for 3 yards on a handoff from Case Keenum. We were supposed to see Bradford hand it off to Dalvin Cook and because we aren’t, I’m just angry at the universe and the only thing I can do is write about it. Sure, Teddy’s coming back soon, but they’ll most likely rush him back as well and I’ve always been more of a Bradford fan so now I’m going to be doomed to articles/arguments about Teddy vs. Bradford while the team struggles to beat a “decimated” Bears team (per John Gruden on MNF), because they’re decimated as well.

I feel for Zimmer as he always has had these awful circumstances. From AP’s suspension/injury to Teddy’s and now Bradford and Cook’s leg… It’s just too much and with the Packers coming up, you want to hope that Bradford can play but it doesn’t look like he’s going to be back and that’s just not enough to beat the Packers, especially considering that they’re tied to the Bears in the 4th quarter after a ton of freak plays and penalties (and more horrible play by Trae Waynes).
