Anthony Barr Claps Back at Rodgers… Check Mate.

After Aaron Rodgers appeared on NATIONAL TELEVISION to bust out Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr (it didn’t go well, seriously, if you haven’t see it… Watch this... Conan is a legend) for both breaking his collarbone and apparently “giving him the finger and doing the ‘suck it’ move” (paraphrasing here), it was thought that because of that appearance as well as some grainy Zapruder-esque footage of Barr grabbing his crotch after the hit, that Barr was in the wrong and that’d be the end of it.

But, before we get into Barr’s response… The truth is that it’s already a win for Barr because he’s entered Vikings legend status, or actually… Packers legend status, as he’ll always be remembered as the “cheater” who destroyed the 2017 season (… With a completely legal hit and also zero flags for taunting). But, despite not needing to, Barr quadrupled down on his beef with Aaron Rodgers by posting a response on his Twitter and showing that the 2017 NFL is a completely different animal than even the 2007 NFL (Beefs on National TV and Twitter? Bud Grant would be rolling over in his grave if he didn’t tell the grim reaper to run some “F****** Laps!”). In response to Rodgers’ appearance (which to be fair actually was part of the outtakes that were posted on the Team Coco YouTube channel) Barr posted:

Now. I pride myself on being able to really argue with anyone, it’s one of the main reasons that I have this site in the first place. But, I can honestly say that this is one of the most damning responses of all time. It’s not just that he basically turns the entire argument around on Rodgers and the Packers (as he did just get up and walk back to the huddle, but because the Packers got all emotional because their season was over they started saying things to Barr who simply responded), but also that he basically makes Rodgers look terrible for basically breaking the unspoken code that is, essentially, “What happens on the field stays on the field” (unless your collarbone explodes on the field, of course) and also for lying about exactly what went down after his insides turned to dust.

So, this really ends up making Rodgers look really, really bad. He’s always had the reputation of being a primadonna and this will basically solidify that not just with fans (outside of Green Bay) but with other players in the league. I’m sure that Zimmer and company aren’t really pleased with this sort of thing but considering that Barr has yet to delete his response it looks like he’s in the clear. Now, I will say, that I’ve gotten into a fair amount of arguments about rivalries in football back when there was this movement online to get rid of the hostility between the Vikings and Packers (“lets take the high road! It’s just a game!”) and that was a large part of the reason, again, that I started this site (I was run out of Reddit, like three times). So, I really love this sort of stuff as it brings the Packers/Vikings rivalry to a whole other level and it also shows those who weren’t aware that Rodgers is a diva.

Best. Day. Ever!
