The View from VT: Flores Gets His CB, OTA Development, and Goodbye WR

1) At Long Last, Brian Flores Landed the Corner He Had Been Chasing for a While: Prior to becoming a defensive coach, Coach Flores was a scout. So, maybe he’s onto something when he advocates for snagging a specific player. A lot of coaches tend to know which guys fit the scheme, Flores among them.

2) One Development from Vikings OTAs Towers Above the Rest: To be sure, the spring is a time when everybody needs to slow down. Much remains to be determined. But while caution is to be exercised, there are nevertheless risers on the field who are building hype.
3) Vikings Show Freakish Receiver the Door: GM Nolan Teasley brought a couple receivers with him to the Twin Cities. Doing so enhances the competition at what is already a very competitive spot. So far, UDFA Dillon Bell has generated the most enthusiasm among the depth adds.

4) Ex-Vikings Playmaker Joins Aaron Rodgers in Pittsburgh: Mr. Rodgers is giving it another whirl with Pittsburgh, mercifully ending his long game of indecision. The Steelers, in all likelihood, will be a good but not great football team.
5) Former Vikings LB Signs with the Browns: Plenty of shuffling at this time of the year. Soon enough, the football world is going to slow down as the dead period arrives for the offseason. Things will really get cooking again in late July.
