The View from VT: June 6th, 2026
1) The Vikings’ Cap Space Swells: Good news for the team. But, to be sure, expected now for several months. Opting for patience was the final call back in March, meaning June 1st was always going to be a date to watch for on the calendar. New GM Nolan Teasley now gets to work to improve the roster.
2) A Tall, Speedy Vikings Corner is Now Hanging on for Dear Life: Minnesota has opted to retain the promising undrafted talent for a couple of seasons. Given the lack of a role on specials, that’s somewhat odd. When does the promise and potential need to morph into on-field impact?
3) NFL Insider Hints J.J. McCarthy Wants Out of Minnesota: Anything is possible, I suppose. Best guess on this end of the internet is that McCarthy remains a Viking for a minimum of 2026 and into 2027. Seeing Kyler Murray fully shine could change the calculus next year, but that’s next year.
4) Vikings Star Could Be Back in Business: In a perfect world, the stud left tackle is fully ready to roll in time for Week 1. The keyword: fully. Mr. Darrisaw had some time on the field last year but never got back to himself. The Vikings need that to change.
5) Vikings Say Goodbye to Deep Threat, Add 2 Receivers in New GM’s First Moves: A scalpel, not a machete. So far, GM Nolan Teasley has made small, precise adjustments. That much is evident in the first moves of Mr. Teasley.
