Vikings Podcast: Playoff Time
The Minnesota Vikings are 13-4 and going to the playoffs. More specifically, they’re the 3 seed in the NFC, which means they’ll be hosting the New York Giants in RD1. On the latest episode of Notes from the North – a humble Vikings podcast – we discuss the comfortable win over the Bears before previewing the playoffs.
Take a peak at what Sam had to say: “Kyle and Sam do a brief review of the Vikings Bears game before moving into previewing the playoff game against the Giants. They talk about the different areas of importance for the Vikings to have success, and then give their predictions for the playoffs before wrapping up with a world juniors review.”
Overall, there isn’t too much of significance coming out of the Bears game. The Vikings were supposed to win by a comfortable margin and they did so. Nathan Peterman did have some nice moments, but Chicago was never much of a threat.
The Giants are coming back to U.S. Bank Stadium, so we delve into what will make a win likely and what will make a loss likely.
In the playoff picks portion, Sam inexplicably rolls with the Dallas Cowboys for his side of things. Assuming the Vikings are disqualified from being my pick, I instead decide to roll with a different NFC team, unable to bring myself to put my weight behind Mike McCarthy’s bunch.
Toward the end, there is a brief discussion of a nice World Juniors for several Minnesota Wild prospects. Overall, it was an excellent tournament, one full of competitive hockey and surprising wins & losses. Go Canada!
