The Minnesota Vikings are set to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night to open up the Week 2 NFL schedule.

Ahead of tomorrow’s game, the Vikings have released their final injury report of the week, and as part of that report, they have given game statuses for their injured players. As of Wednesday afternoon, center Garrett Bradbury has been ruled out for Minnesota’s matchup against the Eagles.

Bradbury played seven snaps in the Vikings Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before leaving with a back injury. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly thereafter, and Austin Schlottmann took the snaps at center in his place.

The concerning part of this injury is the fact that Bradbury missed a portion of the 2022 season with a back problem as well. This offseason, the Vikings re-signed the center to a new three-year contract, making it seem like the injury was in the rear-view mirror. Evidently, that is not the case anymore.

Now, the Vikings will once again rely on Schlottmann to take snaps at center, and he is faced with the difficult task of slowing down a strong Eagles’ defensive front.

Obviously, Fletcher Cox remains one of the most fearsome defensive tackles in the league, but it seems that the Eagles have landed another stud in Jalen Carter. The rookie amassed 8 QB pressures during his NFL debut against the New England Patriots, tied for the league lead.

In addition to Bradbury, the Vikings also listed Christian Darrisaw and Marcus Davenport as questionable going into the game. Both players have been on the injury report throughout the week with ankle injuries.

Davenport did not play in the season opener against Tampa Bay, so with this “questionable” status, it seems increasingly likely that he will sit out once again.

The outside linebacker was signed in free agency this spring and has been hoped to be the replacement for Za’Darius Smith on the defense. His first five seasons in New Orleans were inconsistent, partially due to injuries.

Philadelphia will also release one more injury report this afternoon prior to Thursday night’s kickoff.
