It’s rare that an NFL fanbase can go into a Sunday during the season without feeling some combination of stress and excitement.

However, that is exactly where Vikings fans stand heading into the Sunday of Week 2. The Vikings lost to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, so they do not have a game on Sunday. With the Vikings being off for the day, here is a look at 3 NFL games for Vikings fans to keep an eye on throughout the afternoon.

Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons

3 NFL Games
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) celebrates a victory against the Chicago Bears as he leaves the field during their football game Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Soldier Field in Chicago, Ill. Green Bay won 38-20.

The Green Bay Packers steamrolled past the Chicago Bears in Week 1, and of course, Jordan Love looked like a great player. However, could that simply be due to playing against an inferior Bears defense? The young Packers QB threw for 245 yards and 3 TDs without his top target, Christian Watson.

This week, the Packers get a road matchup against a tough Atlanta Falcons defense, and it should be a better gauge for whether or not Love actually is the next great QB in Green Bay. In just a few short weeks, Minnesota will be traveling to Lambeau and taking on Love and the Packers in Week 8.

Kansas City Chiefs at Jacksonville Jaguars

In terms of entertainment value, this could be the game of the weekend. In a rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional Round, the Kansas City Chiefs are set to travel to Jacksonville and take on the Jaguars.

During that playoff game about nine months ago, the Jaguars gave the Chiefs a run for their money, but ultimately, Patrick Mahomes pulled off more wizardry despite being hobbled with a high ankle sprain.

Heading into 2023, the Jaguars are hoping to take the “next step” and go from simply being a fringe playoff team to a bonafide Super Bowl contender. They can make a big statement if they snag a home win against KC.

Los Angeles Chargers at Tennessee Titans

This game provides Vikings fans the chance to scout their next opponent as the Los Angeles Chargers will head to Minnesota in Week 3. Last week, their defense could not stop the Dolphins offense as LA fell 36-34 in their home opener.

However, this is still a team with a lot of talent. Justin Herbert is one of the best young QBs in the NFL, and he has some talented receivers around him like Keenan Allen, Quentin Johnston, and Mike Williams. Los Angeles will have to win this game without Austin Ekeler, though, who was ruled out for Week 2.
