Vikings Mascot has Hilarious Feud with Jets Receiver on Social Media

Viktor the Viking – Minnesota’s official mascot – has a lot of personality. His Twitter bio indicates that he’s the King of Britain and the Mayor of Green Bay. Recently, that proclivity for joking led him into a back and forth with Garrett Wilson, New York’s talented young receiver. The Vikings mascot was sure to suggest he got the better of Wilson.
The humorous feud began with the New York Jets’ Twitter posting a photo of Viktor and Wilson sparring during the game:
Shortly thereafter, the Vikings mascot made it known that the opening round went to him. Take a look:
Wilson, to his credit, was a good sport. He responded to Viktor, humbly acknowledging defeat:
As Vikings fans know, the recent Jets game was an exciting one. The defense had to step up in the fourth quarter to seal the win. A large part of the reason why the game was so close was because of the damage Wilson was doing. In the end, the rookie receiver had 8 receptions for 162 yards. He was Mike White’s top target, a trusted receiver who could pick up explosive gains.
Thankfully, Minnesota had enough to pull out their 10th victory of the season.
Unfortunately, Wilson plays for the Jets, an AFC team. That means Minnesota won’t face them with the same regularity as their NFC counterparts. Whenever the next match occurs, though, keep an eye on the Vikings mascot. Perhaps he’ll be looking to push the score to 2-0 against the young New York receiver.
Minnesota’s next game will occur on Sunday when they travel to Detroit. A win sends them to the playoffs with a division crown in their back pocket. In other words, Viktor would have something else to brag about.
