Q: How much will Kirk Cousins get for his next Vikings payday, and when will that happen?

A: Just like last year, Cousins is likely to sign another extension this spring — if the team’s season ends in a worthwhile manner.

That is — if the Vikings squander this 5-1 start or get slaughtered in the first playoff game, Cousins may not be a hot commodity to re-sign.

However, if Minnesota continues this stretch of prosperity, Cousins will probably command $40 million per season via extension next March.

Q: What is your prediction for Vikings-Cardinals?

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (1) throws the ball away under pressure against the Minnesota Vikings during the first quarter in Glendale, Ariz. Sept. 19, 2021. Cardinals Vs Vikings

A: Our staff predicted Vikings over Cardinals, 28-23.

The Vikings could encounter a hot, motivated Cardinals team fresh off a Thursday Night Football victory over the New Orleans Saints. Or the Cardinals could bring the roster that scored nine points in Week 6 at the Seattle Seahawks.

We shall see. Our prediction blends both possibilities, and the Vikings hang on via vintage one-score game — which Minnesota seems to adore.

Q: When do you expect Andrew Booth to actually see the field?

A: We predict this week. It’s time.

Booth is finally healthy, and after Patrick Peterson and Cameron Dantzler, the Vikings don’t exactly have Pro Bowl corners as reservists. It’s time to peak at Booth’s skillset, especially as a 2nd-Rounder.

The bye week helps Booth be ready, alas, healing from the quad injury. So, for better or worse, expect to see Booth very soon.
