There Are Some New Additions to the Vikings Injury Report

Yesterday, the Minnesota Vikings had one of the cleanest injury reports you’ll ever see from an NFL team. The only player listed on the report was DE Jonathan Bullard. The newly promoted starting defensive end participated at a limited capacity in Wednesday’s practice with a bicep injury. The Thursday injury report remains largely clean, but there are two new additions to take note of:
- Lewis Cine (knee)
- Alexander Mattison (personal)
Cine was listed as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice, joining Bullard whose status remained the same due to his bicep. Meanwhile, Mattison did not participate, but this was due to a personal matter and not an injury. The reasoning behind Mattison’s absence was not disclosed.

Ultimately, the goal is to get everybody off the injury report, but in the NFL world, that is simply unrealistic. There will be injuries throughout the week as players practice and prepare for the upcoming week’s game. That said, this injury report for the Vikings remains about as blemish-free as you can get. We discussed the Packers injuries yesterday, but they had 11 players show up on Wednesday’s report.
As long as Cine avoids becoming a DNP due to this knee issue, there should be optimism that he makes his NFL debut this Sunday against Green Bay. He’s listed as the backup safety to Cam Bynum, and the first-round pick showed great flashes in training camp and preseason.
Both teams will release one more injury report on Friday prior to Sunday’s game.
