In the latest edition of roster mishmash between the Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings, it’s the Eagles turn to take a player from the Vikings. After the Vikings traded to acquire wide receiver Jalen Reagor and signed cornerback Tay Gowan off their practice squad, the Eagles have signed promising pass-rusher Janarius Robinson off the Vikings practice squad, per Chris Tomasson.

Robinson was a fourth-round pick by the Vikings in the 2021 draft class. After Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Kevin O’Connell purged much of the class during the cutdown period this year, the Florida State product was one of the few players to remain with the team. The Vikings even waived him, but they brought him back to the practice squad after he cleared waivers.

The signing comes as a response to defensive end Derek Barnett going to IR. This is also Robinson’s first stint on an active NFL roster during his career as he spent much of the 2021 season dealing with injuries. He went into the 2021 Draft with obvious upside as a pass rusher due to his freakish athletic skills, so we’ll see if the Eagles can unlock some of this potential as he heads to Philadelphia.
