NFL Commentator Predicts 13 or 14 Wins, Strong Year for Kirk Cousins

Some folks love Colin Cowherd, others aren’t as enthused. One thing that may intrigue Vikings fans, though, is Cowherd’s prediction that the Vikings are going to have a great year.

Take a look at the clip:

Josh Frey has spent a few moments discussing this topic, so I won’t get into too much detail in this piece. Instead, I’ll offer up a couple brief thoughts.

Kirk Cousins never fails to inspire debate. That’s true both during the season and during the offseason. People have strong opinions about the QB1, largely due to his sizeable contract. If Cowherd is right that playing for Mike Zimmer – a HC who didn’t love his QB – was bad for Cousins’ performance, then we ought to see some good improvement in 2022. Kevin O’Connell intentionally chose to come to Minnesota. He coached Cousins in Washington, so K/O knows exactly what he’s getting himself into.

Getting to 13 or 14 wins would be remarkable, but I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t see it coming. To my mind, it’s far likelier this team finishes somewhere around 9-8. Going 13-4 could very reasonably be enough for Minnesota to snag top spot in the conference, meaning the conference needs to come through U.S. Bank Stadium to reach the Super Bowl. Frankly, I don’t see this happening, but I’d be thrilled to be wrong.

The addition of Carson Wentz under center should help, but let’s be honest, one player won’t make all the difference. But even if Wentz comes in and plays excellently, the Commanders will need bigger contributions from other parts of their roster to have a chance this season. Especially on defense, where they struggled to slow down their opponents.Luckily it won’t all come down to Wentz, the Commanders have many others who could improve upon their efforts in 2021. Here’s three Commanders players who are in line for a breakout season in 2022.” uploaddate=”2022-07-18″ thumbnailurl=”https://cdn.brid.tv/live/partners/17660/snapshot/1055660_sd_1658160495.jpg” contentUrl=”https://cdn.brid.tv/live/partners/17660/streaming/1055660/1055660.m3u8″ width=”16″ height=”9″]
